CONFERENCES

HOW WE SERVE YOU

CMC committees work hard to develop opportunities for our members to develop their practice and share their knowledge.

We believe...

The California Mathematics Council believes that each and every student has the capacity to become mathematically competent and confident when provided with an equitable, rigorous and challenging mathematical program supported by high expectations.

The California Mathematics Council is committed to:

  • Providing and promoting professional activities and resources that will ensure continual improvement towards excellence in the teaching and learning of mathematics for each and every student;

  • Communicating with educators, parents, the public, and legislative bodies concerning issues related to teaching rigorous, relevant, and challenging mathematics; and

  • Increasing the diversity of membership of the California Mathematics Council and the diversity of leadership in mathematics education at the local, state, and national levels.

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re thrilled to highlight an op-ed by our President, published in EdSource. The piece underscores the vital role of high-quality math instruction in shaping students' futures. It also showcases compelling new findings from the Gallup Math Matters study, released in partnership with the High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) Learning Partnership Coalition.

This timely article brings national attention to the need for effective math education and celebrates the incredible work educators do every day.
